At the beginning of 2017 THETS organised sessions on the history of economic thought at two conferences.
During the annual conference of the Royal Economic Society, from 10 until 12 April 2017, at the University of Bristol THETS hosted a session on the works and legacy of David Ricardo. The session marks the 200th anniversary of the publication of the first edition of David Ricardo’s On the Principles of Political Economy and Taxation, a landmark in the history of the discipline.
During the annual conference of the Scottish Economic Society, from 24 until 26 April 2017, in Perth, THETS hosted a session on the historical dimensions of economics. Papers focused on themes drawn broadly from economic history or the history of economic thought.
