Annual Conference 2019

The 51st annual UK History of Economic Thought Conference will be held at Goldsmiths, University of London on 5 and 6 September 2019 in collaboration with THETS.

We are calling for papers dealing with any aspect of the history of economics from any period. We encourage submissions from disciplines across the humanities and social sciences. We also welcome papers taking a non-European or global perspective.

Presentations by PhD students and early career scholars are particularly encouraged. The Society will award a few stipends to cover part of the travel expenses of young scholars.

A selection of the papers presented at the conference will be published in a special issue of Œconomia co-edited by Maxime Desmarais-Tremblay, Richard Van Den Berg and Isabella Weber.

Anyone who would like to present at the conference is invited to send an abstract of at least 200 words (or a full paper) before 31 March 2019 by email to indicating THETS in the subject. If you would like to be considered for a young scholar stipend, please attach a copy of your CV. Proposals will be selected before the end of April. Full papers are expected by mid-August.

Further details about the conference will be posted on this page. In the mean time for any inquiries, please do not hesitate to contact us.
